NAPC companions with LGUs to handle poverty issue | The ...

CEBU, Philippines —  The countrywide Anti-Poverty fee (NAPC) has partnered with native govt contraptions (LGUs) in the Visayas for the implementation of the Sambayanihan Serbisyong Sambayanan program to reduce poverty in the country.

NAPC Secretary Noel Felongco, in a press convention the day gone by, disclosed that the agency has already signed memorandum of agreements with 72 LGUs in the Visayas last 12 months for the partnership.

Of the seventy two LGUs, three are the provinces of Bohol, Siquijor, and Aklan while 69 are municipalities and cities. Of the 69 municipalities and cities, NAPC has entered an contract with 22 LGUs in Bohol,  15 in Southern Leyte, 10 in Cebu, six in Negros Oriental, 5 each and every in Siquijor and Aklan, two in Negros Occidental,  one  each and every in Leyte, Biliran and Samar.    

Felongco stated Bohol Governor Arthur Yap has pledged to allocate dollars for the poverty discount in his province.

Of the ten LGUs in Cebu, he mentioned every one of these are from the 2d and seventh districts in the province, stressing that they are engaged on entering greater MOAs with other LGUs. Felongco stated LGUs could be a good assist within the beginning of fundamental features to the americans peculiarly those regarded as negative, oppressed, marginalized and the vulnerables.

 "through this MOA, we are making the LGU our partners in our advocacy within the combat against poverty, starvation, oppression, and naturally we wish to support or help our primary sectors in getting their share in governance," he said, stressing that Sambaynihan is the company's counsel for their efforts to reduce and eradicate poverty in the country which consist of having the convergence in all executive anti-poverty programs, initiatives, and capabilities. 

He defined that the base line of this program is to center the governance in poverty discount to the LGUs.

NAPC has already recognized 40 provinces, 10 municipalities, and 10 barangays considered as the poorest in the nation as a part of the Sambayanihan framework.—  FPL (FREEMAN)
