Pakistan farmers protest towards expense hike

Multan [Pakistan], March 20 (ANI): The Pakistani farmer affiliation, Kissan Ittehad, on Friday took to the streets on their tractors to protest the hike in prices of electrical energy, fertilisers, agricultural products, and diesel.

The farmers have also introduced to stage a dharna on March 31 to proceed their protest, Geo news pronounced.

throughout the tractor rally, the protesting farmers stopped at various facets throughout the rally to chant slogans, while lots of them additionally held placards.

in keeping with the protesters, the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has purchased agricultural commodities at very low prices, so much so that farmers couldn't even achieve a breakeven.

despite losses, farmers were compelled to pay hiked fees for diesel, electrical energy, and fertilisers, they argued.

"everything is so high priced, the agricultural neighborhood is on the verge of collapse," the protesting farmers noted, in response to Geo information.

The farmers have demanded a waiver of the electricity bills for operating tube wells in addition to subsidy on electrical energy, fertilisers, and diesel. (ANI)
