Karachi: Sindh assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Khan Durrani has penalised eight opposition legislators for bringing a charpoy to the assembly to show a symbolic "funeral of democracy" during a session to register their protest.
The lawmakers belonged to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the main Opposition political birthday celebration in the Sindh meeting. It become the primary time in the background of the Sindh assembly that a charpoy changed into delivered to the house right through a session as a logo of protest.
The Speaker deemed the incident as a violation of the sanctity and decorum of the provincial legislature.
while exercising his powers, the Speaker suspended the eight lawmakers from relaxation of the session of the meeting.
The lawmakers referred to that they desired to register their protest as they have been not allowed to speak on the price range of the Sindh executive.
They referred to that the ruling Pakistan Peoples' birthday party had acted towards the democratic traditions and norms through stifling the voice of opposition.
Violent scenes were seen during the session when the protection staff of the assembly intercepted to convey the circumstance under manage.
The legislators later staged a take a seat-in near the rostrum of the Speaker with a protest banner on which it became written in Urdu that it became 'democracy's funeral.'
