Pakistan holds election in 39 cantonment boards

Pakistan on Sunday held elections in the 39 cantonment boards across the country, a grand electoral contest on the local level ahead of the 2023 popular polls.

in keeping with the Election fee of Pakistan (ECP), the polling began at 8 am. a complete of 1,513 candidates are vying for 206 well-known member seats.

There are 219 wards in forty two cantonment boards in the country, however polling became not being held in any of the nine wards of Kamra, Cherat and Murree Gallies cantonments as a result of both the candidates were elected unopposed or the polling turned into postponed.

Elections are not being organised in four other wards of various boards the place candidates gained unopposed. All leading political events together with the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples party (PPP) in addition to a number of nationalist and spiritual parties are contesting the key elections.

it is the third most important electoral contest due to the fact the 2018 widespread elections.

for the reason that all events are contesting in my view, the effect will support them prepare for the subsequent well-known elections scheduled to be held in 2023.
